HELIX: Patient positioning system for bedridden patients in prone position
HELIX is a modular positioning device designed for lightness, comfort, and durability, manufactured in compliance with safety standards according to Regulation (EU) 2017/745. The system is intended for use exclusively in indoor environments and on patients already in the prone position, following the guidance of healthcare professionals and facility protocols. Thanks to its modularity, HELIX offers numerous configurations that adapt to the evolving postural needs of the patient, their anthropometry, morphology, gender differences, body mass, inclinations, and rotations, allowing for frequent adjustments by clinical staff. Use is permitted on mattresses with a flat or similar surface.
The system has an integrated mobile workstation equipped with an illustrated user guide to minimise staff operations and ensure department order.
Intended use
HELIX is designed for adolescent and adult patients with a height between 1.60 m and 1.90 m, and allows for:
support, position, mobilise and reposition the patient's body in an individualised manner;
distribute pressures evenly and relieve critical points such as the face, genitals and sternum, preventing trauma and pressure ulcers;
To contain and postureally align segments and the whole body;
decompression of the thoracic cage, diaphragm, and abdomen;
correctly position the garment according to the pronation therapy;
download lower arms, knees and elbows;
manage contractures and oedemas.
The combined and harmonious use of all elements of the system promotes an individualised and relaxed posture for the patient.
Materials
Modular polymeric material with different characteristics of density, elasticity, load-bearing capacity and shape memory.;
PU/PES combined polymer fabric coating, antibacterial, biocompatible, fire-retardant, breathable, washable, sanitisable and sterilisable;
Single-patient disposable TNT covers and/or liners for each component (consumables).
